The water of Guryong Valley originates in Manbokdae Peak (1,438m) in the western part of Jirisan Mountain and converges into the middle zone of Woncheoncheon Stream in Jucheon-myeon, Namwon-si. The water originates in Manbokdae and falls drastically from Guryong Valley and flows slowly in Gogi-ri and Deokchi-ri in Jucheon-myeon, Namwon-si, around Unbong basin. Goryong Valley is referred to as the areas from Songryeokdong waterfall below the information center of Guryong valley in Jirisan National Park in Hokyeong-ri, Jucheon-myeon. There is the legend in Guryong Valley that says nine dragons come down from heaven and spend some time in nine waterfalls, and ascend to the heaven again. In particular, Guryong valley is especially crowded with tourists in summer.
