Jeongdongjin
Jeongdongjin Station, which is listed the Guinness Book of World Records for the closest railroad station to the sea in the world, is the most favorite place for Korean young lovers to visit. The romantic view of the station, which is directly connected to the white sands right after getting off the train, is frequently used as the main background for various dramas and advertisements. Also, in the Hourglass Park beside the station, there is a large hourglass running all year. On December 31st every year, this hourglass turns upside down over a period of 13 minutes when all of the sand has dropped. In addition, at Sunrise Park on the cliffs, which is the best observatory on the east coast, there is an exotic sculpture park surrounded by two huge real cruise vessels (restaurants and condominiums) and coconut palm trees.

North Korea 's submarine was stranded on the coast of Daepo-dong near Jeongdongjin on September 18, in 1996. It has shocked the people, and the government made this park to make all the people raise their awareness of national security. The park which has that submarine for the infiltration is newly getting a tourist attraction with the sunrise of Jeongdongjin.

This is the Joseon's typical house that was built by Choi Chiwoon (1390~1440) who was a Confucian scholar of Joseon Dynasty.
Although there was an old house at the back yard, only the men's part of a house remains now. Today's figure was made along the plan of the restoration cultural assets by the government in 1996. In the grounds, there are Munseongsa, Yulgok's shrine, Yulgok's Memorial house, folk museum, and Gangneung Ojukheon Municipal Museum .

It consists of two specialized groups: one is ‘the Chamsori Phonograph Museum ' which mainly treats musical sounds, and the other is the ‘ Edison Science Museum ' that is about the inventions.
It started as a ‘Chamsoribang' by the curator Son Seong-mok at Songjeong-dong, Gangneung-si in 1982, and has had nearly thirty years' history. This museum whose main collections are phonographs, radios, TVs, automobiles, and the inventions of Edison etc. has nearly 5,000 exhibits and takes pride in the greatest scale as the private museum in the world.

It is a typical house among the upper classes of Joseon Dynasty. Its founder, Mugyeong Lee Nae-beon is the 11th descendent of a prince Hyoryung. A detached house, Yulhwadang had been built by a monk, Lee Hoo in 1815(15th year of King Sunjo of Joseon Dinasty), and Hwalaejeong in the lotus pond was made by Lee Geun-woo the next year.
Though it consisted of many buildings such as Anchae, Dongbyeoldang, Seobyeoldang, hwallaejeong, Yeolhwadang, Haengnangchae, and a warehouse etc. some of them were destroyed during the Korean War. After that, it has been renovated. Its arrangements had not been completed at the early construction, but have been enlarged gradually.
