


There is a livestock farm to provide Keomeok Dwaeji for 20 years in Unhang-ri, Suju-myeon, Yeongwol-gun. It is almost an original house of ‘Keomeok Dwaeji.’ Keomeok Dwaeji means ‘traditional’ as well as the black hair. Like in the past, they are given sewage and are not lock in pigpens.
Keomeok Dwaeji is black and small, and has more wild to endure a coarser feed and inferior environment than improved pigs. It has excellent adaptability to be strong against diseases, but its body is small. The improved pig usually furrows 10-12 pigs but Keomeok Dwaeji furrows 7-8 pigs. The meat is more reddish than normal pork. The pork of Keomeok Dwaeji is juicy and has no smell, so gourmets like this pork. Many restaurants serve Keomeok Dwaeji.
