Rail Bike

The Rail bike may sound unfamilar. But it is 4-wheeled bicycle that runs on the railroad tracks by peddling and is very popular around mountain resorts in Europe. The name comes from railroad (Rail) and bicycle (Bike).
At Rail Bike, which is runned by Jeongseon county, Korea Railroad and KTX Tour & Leisure Corporation, there are two types of bikes; one is a 2-seat (100kg) and the other is a 4-seat (138kg). In spite of the huge size, it moves smooth and it is even easy for one person to run a 4-seat rail bike.
It can reach speeds of up to 10~30km/hour, and there is no worry about tipping over since it has 4 wheels. The temporary bumper protects the rider when crashing into other bikes. If riding the Rail Bike at Gujeol-ri Station with someone you love and facing the cool wind on the hill via the clean water of Songcheon and green mountains and forests, you may feel so happy that you might want to stop the time forever.

The iron horse (train), which used to run from Auraji to Gujeolri, is not moving any more, and, on the calm railroad, a rail bike, which is favored as a new ride, passes the beautiful place where the sad story of Jeongsun Arirang is nestled.
Jeongseon Rail Bike boasts the longest course of 7.2km in Korea, and it is designed to move you near to your partner. It is also safe that it is possible to look around or make a phone call while moving.
Since there is no uphill path, it is not hard to move the 4-seat rail bike even for a single rider.

Cafe "Yeochiui Ggum (dream of grasshopper)"
When waiting for your turn, you will see a pair of huge, steel-framed grasshoppers at a corner of the station. As a pair of grasshopper sings for us in the deep and clean nature around Gujeolri Station, this cafe gives tourists the pleasure of a trip. The cafe was made from a transformed train, and the lower floor is a spaghetti restaurant and the upper floor is a cafe. It is recommended to sit facing the counter for a fine view of Songcheon.
