The origin of Han-gwa

Since Koryo Dynasty regarded Buddhism as a state religion, tea with fruits and pastries preserved in honey was enjoyed widely in order to give up meat eating. In Joseon Dynasty, the traditional cooking processes were developed, so Han-gwa was improved as a favorite food. While the traditional tea made of ginseng, citrons, quinces, or oranges etc. was loved with Han-gwa in old times, these days, people prefer green tea, ginger tea, and cinnamon tea.

Keeping Han-gwa

In winter, before eating, if you take care of it warmly for about thirty minutes, and you can taste its mild and sweet flavor. Also, you can heat up the stiffened for three minutes in the microwave oven.

Wonju Hanji is five-colored and has been used in making craftworks. Wonju is a suitable region for growing the paper mulberry and has clean water, so its paper is famous for the high quality.
The bast fiber, a material of Hanji is collected from the mulberry trees. The paper mulberries grow spontaneously at the mountains and the ridges between fields in Wonju.
Also the clean water used in the washing process makes the paper durable.
It obtained the certification of the quality control from Korea Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA) in 1985, and acquired the quality certification from International Standardization Organization (ISO) in October, 2002.

The best mystique of the world, Chuncheon Jade!
It has been known that China used jade originally. Especially, Nephrite jade from Xinjiang Uygur in China had been used as the remedy of various kinds of diseases.
