- What has been remained through the peaceful management of DMZ?
The core of ideas of strategies of DMZ peaceful management, which has been supported by Gangwon-do, will be expected to construct 'Peaceful Areas of Koreans' as well as management of the North and South Korea and global marketing to make DMZ as a global tourist attraction.
이 DMZ is the world's unique symbol of separation of one nation, a historical site of cold war, and a good site of ecology. So the areas can be applied in various ways if DMZ is kept and applied. And the area takes very important roles as regional and functional ways because it has been crossed through the center between east and west of land of Korea.
Jin-Seon Kim, who is the governor of Gangwon-do, said "I made such stragic ideas because DMZ won't be a closed space but a space of communication if peaceful time is progressed."

◇ Building of DMZ as ' Peaceful Areas of Koreans'
In order to make ' International Free Tourist Areas' between Geumgang and Seolak areas, ' Peaceful Areas of Koreans' will be created in the areas of Seolak and Yangyang Airport as well as extending to Wonsan and Gangreum. In areas of Cheolwon, 'Peaceful Industrial Complex' will be created. Also in order to prepare of the unification, 4th steps of Pyeonghwa-si' will be pursued by the plan of before and after the unification. Also roads between North and South Korean and base of storage will be installed.
◇ Common Usage and Management of DMZ resources
Through common usage of water resources of Dam of Peace and Dam of Mt. Geumgang, North Korea's lack of river water can be solved and tourist route of Mt. Geumgang will be restored as well as making 'Peaceful Sea Park' of East Sea and common operation areas of North and South. In the areas of DMZ, there will be solar and heat energy complex having the concept of ecology with developing Gungyedo Castle of areas of Cheolwon. And 'Pyeonggan Prairies' will be developed by co-operation of North and South.
◇ Building DMZ as tourist Attraction
By serveying DMZ's various natural, historical, cultural, social, and humanistic resources to register as the world's remains as well as develop this as a good brand to develop touristic and cultural products. And also 'UN University Institute' will be built' In August, ' Gangwon-do DMZ Tourist Beaureau' will be expected to be built in order to reflect various DMZ related plans like interchange of North and South and Border Belt which are one of large areas of government. All of these place will be made by close co-operation with government as assignments of North and South.
